ABOUT US
The BoodaLu Steakhouse / Muddy Dog Bar is the first restaurant for its previous owners, Michael and Kathy, who have lived in the Quincy area full time since their retirements in 2007. Michael had become bored after six years of retirement and convinced Kathy they should buy an old building and open a restaurant. The beautiful 1870’s era building that had more recently housed a restaurant seemed to be a good fit for their new vision.
They did extensive and much needed structural restoration including new basement supports, roof, and kitchen. An elevator was added to allow the use of the upstairs event space for rehearsal dinners, birthday dinners, and private parties. The restaurant is located a few hundred feet from the Mississippi River supplying an amazing view for diners inside the main dining room or out on the awninged patio. They named it BoodaLu Steakhouse and Muddy Dog Bar after their two dogs that lived with them for years –Booda and Lulu.

In early 2018, they added a commercial kitchen upstairs to accommodate for "pop-up" dinners of fixed courses. These dinners give locals an outlet to try cuisine from all over the world. Some of our sold-out dinner events featured French, Indian, Lebanese, German, and Peruvian.

Our everyday menu is “classic steakhouse” and features great steaks, chops, seafood, and salads. We serve only aged, certified Angus beef, which includes filet, ribeye, and KC strip steaks. We buy the best we can and cook it the way you like. We have an extensive wine list and offer classic cocktails like a Rob Roy or a Harvey Wallbanger, but we can make nearly any libation you want.

Our staff is dedicated to consistently providing great service, delicious food, and well crafted beverages all within a warm and inviting atmosphere. We want our guests to have a satisfying dining experience every time they visit.

We believe you will agree that when you experience great service AND delicious food in a beautiful setting, you will become a repeat customer.
